The MEDplus website republishes and adapts materials from the printed magazine and the MEDplus YouTube channel. The editors of the printed magazine and the YouTube channel adhere to similar missions, values, principles of evidence, and journalism standards.

2. Journalistic standards

2.1. Reliability

MEDplus journalists and editors make every effort to publish only evidence-based medical information.

All facts and value judgments published by us have a clearly indicated source. We give priority to evidence-based information with links to primary sources.

We use data from other media with a hyperlink, but only those whose reputation allows us to consider their information reliable.

We check information from social networks for evidence, paying attention to the authenticity of accounts, bias and/or conflict of interest of the authors of posts, checking the authenticity of published documents for evidence.

The results of studies and surveys are published with the following details: the name of the institution that conducted the study, the choice of methodology, terminology, representativeness of the sample, statistical processing and interpretation of the results, publication, and discussion in scientific circles/resources.

2.2. Accuracy

MEDplus pays special attention to the accuracy of information, quotes, titles and names, quantitative indicators and arguments for assessments of epithets such as “first”, “best”, “greatest”. We do not extract facts, assessments and quotes from the context and present them exactly as they were published in the original.

2.4. Separating facts from comments

We separate facts from comments, and journalists’ comments from expert comments. We do not allow value judgments from the editors and journalists in our materials.
